I am a survivor of the Death Cab for Cutie show.
Two nights ago, at McCarren Pool in Brooklyn, I saw Death Cab for cutie or Death Cab for douchie (a name honestly coined by Ivan and his magic pony) play the worst show I have ever paid to see. I really want to blame them; but I can’t. I should really say, I really wanted to blame them until Simon pointed out to me today that they were up against the elements (bad sound guy, bad venue, bad weather, and bad equipment). It is more actual factual to admit that Buddahead has had plenty of shows in which we have faced the bad elements with the only difference being that we didn’t play them in front of the hipster brooklyn crowd - we played them in front of a one legged man and his dog in the middle of nowhere. Anyone remember Northern Lights - actually there were no bad elements that night, just me fucking it all up!
