I love Paul Simon. I think he may be one of the greatest songwriters of all time, if not the greatest. Here is why: Today I was listening to his album Negotiations and Love Songs which is a collection of some of his songs from 1971 to 1986. Strangely, although I have been listening to him all my life, I just realized that while I have always been captured by his beautiful melodies and incredible musical arrangements, it is in fact the lyrics that push him into the stratosphere of song writing gods.
